About the Ceramics
When asked about the “inspiration” for her pottery, Liz says that the answer is all around us, in nature, people, music, humour, colour, food and creatures.
It’s her contemporary take on the art of pottery.
Liz throws and handmakes all her creations with a white earthenware clay.
Each piece is then hand-painted using underglaze colours; most items will also have ‘scraffito’ detailing. All the handled pots have Liz’s trademark candy stripes and every piece is signed.
The first ‘bisque’ firing takes 12 to 14 hours, followed by the glaze firing at a much higher temperature, ensuring durability.
About the Artist
Liz started Love Unlimited Ceramics in 1988, having gained a degree in ceramics from Bristol Polytechnic.
In the first few years Liz sold her designs through shops and galleries, although her vibrant ceramics are only available from Liz at her studio shop, mail order/online and events that she takes part in.
Liz creates all her pottery at her studio shop at the delightful Clevedon Craft Centre in North Somerset, where she has been happily based since 2008.
When she is not sat at the potters wheel, Liz loves spending time in the beautiful Somerset countryside with Nick, her husband,, and her labradors Sam & Indi.
